As far as I know the channel number has no significance whatsoever - not on any receivers I've used anyway - and I've used several. However with the number that can be obtained from Astra 28ºE - over 1600 on one of mine, I would have thought it will not be long before dedicated programes aimed at the boating fraternity will be broadcast.
There is already a channel called "Horse & Country" aimed at this audience. Another called "Rural TV" is already transmitting with an official launch in the middle of this month. If there is an audience enough for these, then surely there would be enough to merit at least a programe of interest to boaters?
Well on my Sky set-up, Channel 413 takes you to Motors Channel. This shows the Maxi Boat programme above. It's certainly significant to me therefore - or have I misunderstood your comment?

No, I think not. I have Lidl receivers and also one made by a firm called "Strong" - these indicate different channel numbers for each transmission. For example: BBC West is number 21 on the Strong, but 110 on the Lidl - I tell you its an absolute pest trying to remember them all! Not found Maxi Boat yet- but then I do have to search through 1600.
Don't look for Maxi Boat, as a channel - don't think it exists. It is a group of programmes shown on MotorsTV. AFAIK, anyway.
Mind you , with 1600 channels to go through I suspect the prog. will be over before you find it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
