Mobo Sunk in Bembridge?

The whole idea of underwater hul fittings worries me. It is quite simply a hole in the boat. If it is difficult to get the pipe on them I fear people do not put them on properly

It comes with the territory as you go larger .--- more holes .
Two options in my mind
1- One can ensure the pipes are double clipped with quality SS clamps and regularly check the jubilee clips and replace if they appear corroded .

Or 2- Usually sea cocked ,so if you want you could lift various panels ,open inspection plates , look under bunks ( after lifting the mattress ) , crawl around the E room and close them all EVERY time you leave the boat .
Reversing the procedure when you arrive .

Add in frequency of use , confidence in your insurance , how risk averse you are -- your personal ability to deal with hassle in life - each to there own .

It's not worth worrying about - really imho .
Each year 5 airliners are lost globally , on average - but it does not stop you booking a cheap flight .

On older boats - replace the skin fitting s -- but that's NA here

I would never leave my boat for any length of time without closing the sea cocks for all fittings below the waterline
