MMSI from UK, Belgium, etc.

True if the boats are being falsely declared as UK-flagged, I guess. In on it not as being in cohort but as in letting it slide because it has a convenient side (unless of course ofcom is state-owned).

Thinking about it, I can't help noticing that ofcom's quotes are straight from the website I have found, i.e. ofcom knows they are scamming them. Why are they accepting their submissions, taking the money, and issuing MMSIs, only to take them back a year or 5 years later? Can't help to wonder if they are all in on it...
Not sure why you are going off on such tangents regarding this.
You have been told that
(1) MMSI needs relate to and be issued by the relevant boat registration flag state
(2). The website you linked to appears to be giving false information - and you risk losing money if go that route.
If your boat is to be German (or Belgian?) flagged go to to their national equivalents, not UK Offcom. Simple.

Completely agree. Seems to be fixated on the agency route for some reason. I posted the link to the DE authority which will do the job correctly for DE flagged vessels.

The "convenient side" as you call it is to make obtaining an MMSI easy and convenient for entitled boaters thus encouraging the use of essential safety equipment like DSC VHF, AIS, PLB's etc. Would you like them to make it more difficult for genuine applicants in order to save a few mugs who're falling over themselves to pay money to scammers. As a non Brit I can honestly say OFCOM is a magnificent service

I am not. I had already said it's not straightforward or legal. The next post was just an afterthought of no consequence as to the main point of inappropriateness as an option. Especially since ofcom is state owned it is anyway an unfounded afterthought...

HM Government Office of Communication (Ofcom) is definitely state owned. There are or were consortia that arranged Ofcom licences for other uses (such as TV programme making which uses a limited spectrum and needs geographic coordination) but not for marine VHF.
