I am a bit clueless regarding the MMSI blarney. I spose i ought to register um, the epirb with falmouth. Cept i have not yet got papers, nor provisional papers from the MCA. I spose i need to send er something off?

As far as could see the vhf has no MMSI entred which is quite good as it won't need reprogramming.

I confess i haven't reregistered the persoanl epirb from D2 but i wd think that if the signal goes out with gps position...the helicopter won't look out at upturned cat and say hm nope that can't be them, we're looking for a monohul powerboat ...also the home numbers are the same since still me.

The epirb on boad is different tho - some people in switzerland will get a call...

Well it's not exactly rocket science to register your EPIRBs, see here

You'll need the hex ID and serial nos from the EPIRBs

likewise, entering your MMSI is a once only event and will unlock all kinds of magical features on your VHF including a chilling alarm which will go off just when you could do without it

Dear clueless, I applied for MMSI and registered all my kit before boat was delivered. I also applied for SSR and CG66 as well.
I think the forms are online now at ofcom, and will include hf, vhf radar detail and all handhelds, epirbs too. etc.
Plugging numbers into sets is easy peasy, but dont get it wrong as they need dealer attention to change em agin.

here it is:
