I need to smarten up the leather on oars and the yard this winter. My seemingly inexhaustable supply of old brief cases has petered out. Where do the good forumites obtain leather from?

I've just been looking for leather on eBay, to repair the seats of my vintage MG! There's quite a lot listed under Leathercraft in the Craft section, from off cuts to complete hides.

Thanks for the suggestions. Seanick, I can almost smell those websites and thier links! SWG, now that you have stopped your travels and are putting your very carefully maintained Seastream on the market (lovely boat by the way), should you not be buying the sort of small woden boat that would benefit from your suitcase?

I called in personally they were very helpfull, so might be able to sort you out something over the phone.

"Hamlyns Colyton has been a tannery since Roman times. Rebuilt over the centuries, the current buildings are set among orchards, fields of grazing horses, and the gentle rolling hills of rural Devon countryside. Sun filters into the serenity of the tanning rooms. Hides hang in calm country air."

Would love to be able to call in personally too! Thanks for the steer.
