getting the ackers together was difficult, but most 'butters chipped in and a special price was negotiated with the owners of the worlds largest sloop with the worlds largest sails and the worlds most luxurious furnishings etc etc etc ...

intent on quickly recouping the costs, the yacht called in at st gatt to collect a few paying passengers who were brought back and landed. one or two of the fixtures and fittings left with them but that was nothing to what the scouse gits were filching ...

The original Mirabella was built in Thailand, by Concorde Yachts starting in 1988. She is a Bruce Farr designed 40m (132ft) sloop. Initial design work by one of the founders of Nautor (Swan), so she looks like a big Swan.. She was VERY special at the time. She has a fiberglass hull and carbon mast (160ft), which at that time was a big step forward in the superyacht world. She was followed by Philanderer, which was built for another owner. Mirabella III was launched in 1992, and is a 134 ft sloop. All three boats shared the same hull mould. <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.mirabellayachts.com/mirabella3/>Mirabella III has a larger cockpit area than the original Mirabella. Because Philanderer was the second boat built, she was originally labelled Mirabella II, and so that name was never used. There is no Mirabella IV, because the leap up from III was so big they decided to skip one number. These are all wonderful boats. Within the luxury charter market they are considered true sailing yachts, compared with some of the others which are more like motor boats with sticks.
