Mildew on spray hood

How to get rid of it? (the mildew)

What material is the hood.
Difficult with a canvas. Very dilute bleach rinsed off again without too long a delay will kill it but its very difficult to remove the stains it leaves.

but try it in a corner first

Just had the same problem - I had dark and green shading which was deeply ingrained and would not go after jet washing. But the wonder of YBW forum suggested Polycell 3 In 1 mould remover and it worked like magic.

The patio magic stuff, poly cell mould killer all work.
Most builders merchants sell an equivalent more cheaply.

On the packaging you are looking for the dead fish and withered tree hazard sign, some cleaners have acid in them and in this role should be avoided.

Of course, shortly after using that stuffy or acrylic canvas starts going brittle and the stitching rots and breaks.

At least it all looks clean though.

I know his as a friend of mine runs a sailmaker/upholsterer and the make lots of money doing new sprayhoods for people a bit over enthusiastic with the chemicals.

Well I've been using the mould removers for four years now and have not had that problem, I can see that bleaches/acid may cause deterioration.
The only adverse chemical reaction was to get fabsil on the clear panel which renders it opaque.

The fact that mould can colonise a permanently rigged spray hood gives the lie to the view that ventilation is panacea to cure all ills.
