Mikuni MY16 heater

The time has come to fire up the infernal contraption and the same problems persist every year.

1) smell of hot plastic from the duct work
2) generally very noisy fan operation.

The unit has been re-sited to reduce the number of bends in the ducting, I now have pretty much a straight run from the heater to a Y piece thence to fore cabin and saloon.

The unit has alsway been noisy when running, so much so that when it switches off it is a blessing.

Any thoughts appreciated

very pleased with it ( So Far )

I was thinking of mounting mine on some rubber washers to help insulate the fan noise vibration from the hull. Anyone done this?

i dont get fan noise @ all, just the tick-tick

Same here, and even that's pretty quiet as I've mounted the pump on a piece of neoprene. I hardly notice the fan.

Thanks for your views. I suspect the fan/motor has been faulty from new but it is only recently I have compared it to an Eberspacher which was dead quiet, and hence the question. Next stop Mikuni!

I bought a new mikuni my16 but DO NOT have the manual for insatllation. Can someone PLEASE help

I need to see how to install this PROPERLY
