It does if you have the programming software that is not available in the UK.

I can program sets if people want, provided they are local, Hemel Hempstead, Bradwell Essex or Westward Ho! in Devon occasionally.

Hi,
My name is Steve Read, and I'm the enginer at Alan UK, who distribute the Alan and Midland range of radios in the UK.
The M1/M2 channels should be programmed into the Pacific hand portable and Neptune ship mounted radios as standard. If they are not, they can be programmed in using the software and cable mentioned in pvb's post. This software should only be available to authorised radio dealers. The M1/CH37 and M2 channels (AKA P1/P2) can be accessed by using the up/down arrows on the microphone.
If you should find that your Midland radio doesn't have these channels, please return it to where it was purchased to have them programmed in. This may mean that the radio has to be returned to me at Alan UK.
