Hi,
Does anyone know of any web site or owners association for a Micro 18 where I could learn a little about them before considering buying one?
Thanks, Ian.

I have raced on a Micro Gem a few times they are great fun and fast but can be hard work on a windy day and are best being treated as a big dingy.
Just one word of warning if you intend to keep it on a swinging mooring keep the keel down as they have been known to capsize if the keel is up.

I bought a Gem Micro earlier this year and love it!

The pros .....
Easy to tow behind a medium sized car / Easy to launch (floats in 9" of water)
Positive bouyancy / self righting
Usually have all the right sailing bits
Fine looking and great fun to sail
Plenty of accomadation

The cons ......
Most have very basic interiors (I'm working on mine)
The transom mounted offset outboard can be a bit of a pain

They were built in two specs .... cruiser and racer. Mine is a racer (8m Mast) As with all Trailer Sailers, make sure you buy one with a good trailer .... or negotiate a huge discount (unlike me!)

Oh and i'm up for starting a Micro Club if you get one!
