They weather man told us , we was in for a NW 4 to 5 where did that near 7 come from , 170 miles in 26.5 hours a very interesting sail , at time more interesting then we would had like , although it stop being funny when your trying not to fall of a wave in pitch darkness and at the same time stopping the wind gybing the sail

No where On four weather site and channel 68 did they give 7 . I could had strangle that women on the recording still telling us NW4 become NW 5 as we was roaring off the crest .
Experience tell us you can always expect a 4 to become a 5 or a 5 to become a 6 , but a 4 to 5 to become a 7 , one good side to this we used .02 of a litre of fuel and we did safe one life , Alfie a stray swift who lost his way and spend a few hour cuddled up sleeping under C arm ,
Eddie the ship cat wasn't impressed he had to stay below .

Moral of this story if there are forecasting more then a F 2 stay put and chill .

Poor old Michael Fish - who did NOT get it wrong, he was entirely 100% correct - it was the meeja - as ever- and the doltish public that follow (swallow) it who got it wrong. There was no hurricane. There cannot be by definition in these latitudes.

Sorry, in defence of an innocent man.

We have got used to it whilst in Sicily..tomorrow we are going further south in a forecast 2 dropping to nothing... that means somewhere between a 3 and 7 along the way...
