According to someone who came from there yesterday and is now anchored ahead of us, the ban on anchoring in the Lake seems to no longer being enforced. We are heading there today and will report.

I am there now, not atanchor as it is a hot night and hooking up to themains to run the aircon is better than running the genny.
Marina reception staff confirmed that it IS PP policy to discourage anchoring, still. The excuse is still safety re the small cargo vessels turning in the lake.
End of report.
I was told, not by marina staff, that the ban is from a local bye-law dating from the 1950's.
Hope you were able to feed the meter fast enough to run the air-conditioning. The use of switch cards for water and power is growing - 6 ports and 1 marina I went to on the way down the Aegean had the system - €0.43-46 per unit (which is marginally cheaper I believe than Mesologgi)
€0.35 per Kwh actually and since our small single cabin system only consumes 450watts at full chat (we run it at setting 1 out of four), we get along fine. We are now hooked up to the non-metered supply since the card system seems to have gone "crackerdog" again.
We liked the town of Messalonghi, did not feel touristy and the large student population gave it a vibrant feel. Some very good restaurants to
We're on a circumnavigation, anti-clockwise of the Peleponisos, so Killini next, Kyparrissia, Methoni and so on. We don't do Patras anymore since we got out boat "adopted" by Kurdish economic migrants trying to form an association to attempt to avoid being picked up by the police.Steve Why do you keep going to Messi are there not much nicer places to park up. I used to like going to Patra as there was plenty to do see shop ect after the Islands
I really like Messolonghi but you all probably know that they have shut down the university and next year there won't be any students. There used to be 10,000 of them. It's going to devastate an already devastated town, if that's possible.
News to me about the university. So sad. The students really gave the town a unique atmosphere. We'll be at the wake in late September all being well
