Merry Fisher 755 / Beneteau 780

After a two year sabbatical i plan to return to boating this year. I originally had in mind a MF645 or Benny 680 but am now considering the larger 755 / 780 as the boat will be used mostly as a floating holiday home. Most seem to come with a 150hp o/b although i have seen one with 200hp. I am not sure whether i will need the extra 50hp as I plan to pootle around most of the time. For me a bow thruster is a must.

If anyone has experience of either a 755 or 780 i would be pleased to hear about it.

There will be nothing to chose between the 755 and the 780. I slightly prefer the looks of the 755, but that's just me. If you can find one with a 200 without paying too much extra for it, then I would suggest that's the one to buy, all else being equal. No one ever complains about having too much power

I have surveyed both. I found the build quality of Jeanneau better. Easy boats to handle - very dry boats in choppy waters.
