First quadruple!Interesting ? - wonder when we will see the first one in the UK
I read it that Volvo bought 7marine to get rid of juicy big outboards that are taking sales away from small/ medium power inboards ?![]()
You don't need to even remove the cowling for servicing until a 1000 hours.I would think my 2.8m tender will go well with that strapped on the back
I bet the servicing costs are astronomic!
Probably Lighter than any inboard and drive train, capable of 600hp ?It’s a heavy bugger! 570kg.
Almost the weight of 2 x 450s.
Quite possibly true. But;Probably Lighter than any inboard and drive train, capable of 600hp ?
I think efficiency and less engines on the back, might be the idea ? Verging into an alternative to inboards traditionally.Quite possibly true. But;
4 x 450hp (1800hp) = 1252kg
3 x 600hp (1800hp) = 1710kg
Makes no sense to me unless transom real estate is limited. Which it isn’t on boats which manage 1800hp.
But interestingly on the reviews I have seen of the big outboard boats they are just bodges based on stern drive which then extol the virtues of the huge lazarette. It always seems such a waste and total laziness by the manufactureThey have come up with so many innovations in one go.
Can see ips style outboards on the horizon ?
What a beast. Imagine gaining nearly a 1/3 of the interior having either one or two of these on back of a 42ft crusier
