Thanks, Andy. That sounds more like something to undertake on 5th November, to the accompaniment of "Ride of the Valkyries"!
At present it's running well, and from my almost non-existent experience of two-strokes, it doesn't seem necessary for such drastic action at the moment. Presumably you do this sort of thing when it seems to be running out of puff.
My mooring is on a tidal estuary, and is probably more fresh than salt water because I get very little growth on the underside of my boat, so I don't anticipate having to take drastic action to flush salt out of the cooling channels of the outboard.
