I have a Cranchi Pelican 32 fitted with VP 225 D4 engines with DPH legs.
I am thinking of down sizing after experiencing quite a few problems with the legs over the past few years. (Steering rams, steering pump, trim actuators etc)

Have seen a Parker Weekend 800 which seems ideal but because of my previous experience with out drives I am wondering if I dare take the risk.

I want to use the boat for tuna fishing so need to choose an inboard engine option to keep the stern clear for fighting and landing the fish.

Does anyone have any experience with the Mercruiser set up and are they more reliable then VP's?

Thanks

I have a 21 foot Trophy WA fishing boat with a MC 4,3 EFI 210 hp + the Alpha 1 leg. I bought the boat new year 2000 and there has been nothing else done but annual service like oil change, filters, impeller zinks. If it is raw water cooled make sure the cooling water ports in the exhaust are open. Very reliable package.

Just Googled Trophy boats... looks very capable. The Parker Weekend 800 has the enclosed saloon which will come in handy when I finally return to boating in the UK. The Norfolk Broads get a bit chilly in winter. Thanks for the info on the Mercruiser gear. Makes my choice a lot easier.

Thanks and tight lines!
