Merchant navy

Hi all,
As university will be over in less than 12 months its probably time i started looking at jobs.
Anyone been in the merchant navy? Like / dislike? Pros / cons?
I have read up about it, I quite like the working arrangements and the ability to travel but i also realise the travel aspect might not be as good as it first sounds, after all tankers don't go to the nicest parts of a destinantion, and time could be limited also.
Also, the £££ seems to be reasonable
Any feedback appreciated

i wouldn't have a clue where to start, or how to do this. It would seem a tad inefficient to trawl through all the posts though!
