Merc alpha gen 2 decals

I got some via a Fleabay shop a year or so ago from Canada, very nice but not as robust as the OEM stuff. Only cost about £25, but looking a tad faded after 2 seasons.

Just search world wide. With that low value you might, if lucky, avoid customs charges.

I got a full set for my Alpha1 from BAM Marine in Florida in 2002 for about $35. (bammarine.com, I think)

Not sure what the import duty position would be for just a decal set, I needed a whole truckload of bits for a complete refurb so the saving was worth having, even after paying carriage and duty.

In case you're interested, when I did mine I stripped all the paint off the drive when it was all dismantled inc gimbal ring, transom shield and rams using flap wheels and rotary wire brushes, primed it all with Hammerite "Special Metals" primer (very thin runny pink stuff) and then gave everything two coats of Hammerite smooth black. With decals applied it looked as good as new. Lasted about 3 or 4 years iirc, but after each season I scraped enough wildlife off to keep a medium sized fish restaurant going for a week. Now I wonder why I bothered with the decals as I've ruined it all by daubing black trilux all over it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif You can't see the decals anyway when it's sat in the water /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
