About two months ago I ordered and paid for some new folding seats from Menai Marine via their on line ordering site. However, these were out of stock.

I was immediately offered a refund, a more expensive alternative at no extra charge, or a two month wait. I opted for the last, and during the wait Jason kept me informed of the delay and kept open the option for refund.

They finally arrived with him last week, and were a slightly different colour pattern finish. Again I was offered the option of refund or an alternative, but I chose the slight difference.

These duly arrived yesterday along with a £20 refund because of the difference. This was not solicited, and the seats were excellent, so I have asked if they would like the £20 re-paid because as far as I am concerned they have met the original contract within the best of their abilities.

Can I publicly thank Menai for their excellent service and attitude to things outside their control going a bit awry. Recommended seller with a good range of boaty bits.

(Anyone with a Guzzi must be listened to!!)
More seriously there are posts elsewhere sometimes justifiably criticising some companies, but it is always pleasing to hear of experiences such as yours.....
so I would like to add my pennys' worth with the recent recent experience I have had with Hayles Engineering on the IOW at Yarmouth. They service Spurs ropecutters, and I duly sent mine off, from a recently acquired boat, to whit I was very quickly contacted by an exceptionally helpful person explaining why my cutters were beyond repair. He spent some time with me explaining the details and possible reasons why they had excessive wear.(Which tallied with mine and an engineers findings on the boat) We then had to refer to Bruntons on sizing (also very helpful) as I was changing prop. The gentleman in question was back on the phone to me, having phoned Bruntons...BEFORE I HAD GOT ONLINE to email Bruntons!!!

HAYLES of Yarmouth, thank you.

(Guzzis give you wings...not Red Bull)

Sadly the Guzzi's situation is 'used to have' - 2 Mk1 Le Mans and 1 Mk2, Bottle went on the last, when I finally realised I am no longer 19, possibly acquired just a bit too much common sense, and there are just too many damn cars on the roads now.

Anyway, like smoking, out of my system now.

So the last Guzzi Le Man with my toy Suzuki GT380 (Ram Air System fame) had to go, and along came the boats. The deal with SWMBO is that I must at all times own one, now 53 so hopefully 20 or so good seasons left, and damn the expense cos it ain't going with me, and anyway the kids would only waste it !

off piste for many but indulge us..........

850 LeMans.......oh yum....I had a Spada Royale back then. Faultless. Also had a GT 380, ah the burbling turbine. Beautiful. ......Mk 1 Norge in red, now...........(I never thought I'd be able to keep it that short)

SWMBO is also very keen on the boat..... Lucky us!....

Mk1 Le Mans in Red with its silly headlamp faring otherwise naked and fully on display - the most beautiful creation ever adorned by two wheels, save an MV Agusta 750S America (IMHO).

Arguably........I can go with that. Arguably.

To everyone else here, thank you for indulging us!
