I note that Antal use a product called Mekton, I assume its a strong plastic, even if not reinforced. I might also guess its low friction.

I tried a Google search without any success.

Does anyone know anything about it?

Looks like it's just a brand name for some of their products, the text reads composite fibre sleeve, delrin ball bearings and aluminium block

I confess its the first time I've made a Google search and come up with nothing.

If its a material and trade marked, there is no mention of a trademark nor company with Google. It seems bizarre that it has two mentions but no mention on google and no-one in fact knows what it is - really no point in mentioning it, the mention being Antal and the post above from ean_p's

Maybe you need to revise your Google search technique N, I found the ref above within a minute or so. The hardest part was getting around ref's to the game by the same name! Maybe the bias of being in Europe helped and brought the Italian Sirtres company to the fore in my search.....
But nonetheless the product appears to be as you assumed some form of high tech polymer coating that reduces friction on the surface as well as offering anticorrosion properties. Applied in a variety of ways including electrostatically, it sounds like some continuation of the type of coating made famous by DuPonts 'teflon'. It may even be such as I would assume the patents etc for that kind of stuff ran out long ago. Its weakness seems to be that it wont suffer any form of abrasion.......In a world of moving lines...
Anyway the producers are Manicotti per calandratura, guaine termoretraibili, rivestimento cilindri and it seems they own the 'brand' Mekton.

I googled, I recall, Mekton Material

Antal use the term to describe the raw material from which the item is made, rather than a coating. However being a coating has logic given the application - maybe Antal were being economical (with their technology).
