Medway to Burnham on Crouch. Easter Weekend

The old, old advice (actually illustrated by Eric Hiscock in the first edition of “Cruising under Sail” with a photo of his own “Wanderer II” hard aground and dried out!) - when bound into the Crouch from the South, do not cut the corner, no matter how tempted you may be, applies particularly strongly this year.

Nothing changed really, Fred, you should be fine.
And, Gitane, the Havengore is, unusually, fully operational at the moment but I expect it will go u/s again before too long!

Anyone know if the pub at Fambridge (The Ferryman?) is still open?

I believe the pub at Fambridge, which is called The Ferry Boat Inn, is closed for extensive refurbishment. Not due to re-open until much later in the year apparently.

Kacecar is spot on, the Ferry Boat is currently closed until (if they finish on time, they've barely started!) September for major works including an extension, internal reconfiguration and exterior improvements

The cafe / bar at the marina is back open under new management

Excellent trip up and especially back.
Not a pot marker to be seen.
Excellent lunch in Burham Yacht club.
Assorted groups went to The Oyster Smack and the Thai.
Very welcoming and friendly in the Swallowtail but a tad expensive, perhaps that was just muggins picking up a bill for six.
Coming across the Whitaker at LW proved challenging .:)
