Yet another S34 has come to my attention and I’ll be looking at it this weekend.
I’ve done a google search on the boats name and it seems to have been available for hire in the med.
It’s a kad32 boat with 800 hours.
Thoughts on advantages/disadvantages of buying a boat from the Med?

Sounds like the old Sealine Minorca boat .

Plus

1. you dont have to bring it back to the uk
2. It probably has AC and a genny

Minus

1. some - but not all - are pretty hit by the sun - Bimini, interior woodwork, interior linings etc
2. if charter it has had a hard life but 800 hrs does not sound like a charter boat

Where in the med? Ask someone to take a look

What's the name of the boat? We used to have an s34 in mallorca in the late nineties early noughties, I wonder if its our old boat.

No it’s a not, it’s my old boat which we had in Alcudia from 2005 to 2009. We named it “Only You”.

It was shipped back to the UK early last year by Boats.co.uk I think.

We didn’t charter it but I believe the guy I sold it to did.

I’ve just been looking at various boats online , found an S34 in Empuriabrave 2003 on at 66k with would you believe KAD 43 engines, I’ve never seen one with that engine installed.
That would be a quick boat .

.
There is one with kad43's at Farndon so not a one off.

Thanks Paul but I haven't the time or knowledge to buy abroad. Seems a good deal though.
Off to TBS in a bit to look at a couple of boats. One being a Bravia 35 sport and another S34 & S37.

KAD43 230hp
KAD44 260hp
My S37 has KAD43’s and will do 32 knots GPS with a clean bum. I think the claim with 44’s is only 34 knots so 43’s on a S34 will go quite nicely.
When I bought mine new in 2002 I was offered KAD44’s for an extra £8k but chose the 43’s for non electronics and simpler maintenance. No regrets so far especially as 17 year old electronics is pushing it a bit.
