There are stacks and stacks of photo-posts on here showing the areas you're looking at, especially Balearics, SofF and Italy. Search function isn't great though, but worht a shot maybe
Here are some more links to illustrated reports...
+1 on the suggestion.
Actually, coming to think of it, a full collection of all "Med cruising" links would be very handy.
Can't think of many better uses for the "sticky" functionality, just in case anyone from YBW reads this... :)

I agree. Someone did actually make such a thread, a year or two ago. But it never got stickied so it drifted off the bottom. Was it Daka? Not sure. I tried the search function but couldn't find it

One essential book is BlocMarine. It will be available from most Med chandlers and marina offices for about €25 (probably Amazon also). It will give you bang up to date marina layouts, anchorages, hazards (in English) as well as useful stuff on regulations at sea, country flags, weather patterns etc etc. The French version covers a lot of Spain as well (there is a Spanish version and I guess other nationalities as well.
I remember on this forum a few years back someone suggested that it is compulsory to carry BlocMarine on board in France.
Whatever, it's a must have.
