I may do a 1 week bareboat sailing charter late September somewhere in the Mediterranean. There are many sailing grounds on offer: several different Greek bases, Turkey, Croatia, Balearics, Sardinia,S of France....
Crew will be mixed family aged 24-62, biggish boat 38-40 feet. Gentle to moderate breeze favoured over brisk.
Any spots to avoid? Or recommended?

Thank you

For a week's charter, ie 6 nights, with a mixed group, late September, South of France is a good option around Porquerolles, Port Cros, Hyeres, Bormes, Le Lavandou, Cavalaire up to St Tropez or Port Grimaud. Charter from several of above places plus Toulon.

Athens, Alimos marina. If the weather is bad just sail around the relatively protected waters of Saronic and Argolic. Plenty of places and islands to visit (Poros, Aigina, Spetses etc). If the Meltemi is not blowing hard (in September it usually does not) you can sail into the Aegean. Again LOTS of islands to visit.

Yes agree +1
And if youre there between 28/09 and 06/10 you can see the amazing Voiles de Saint-Tropez, two weeks of racing in the Bay of St Trop
