Med / new boat

Having been to Del Sol and aquired a property between Estepona and Sotogrande I will sadly have to part
with my much loved Crown 37, in favour of buying a sports cruiser type (targa 36 or V39/40) once I'm
out there. Me thinks large cockpit in med sun makes sense and no need for the Brooms huge
accomodation. Be sad to see her go though.
I think I'll advertize her in MBM classifieds first, rather than putting her on brokerage
at Penton Hook. Save 8% that way. woddoyerthink

Lovely boat the Broom, don't brooms themselves offer a service, selling pre-owned Brooms, as opposed to second hand ones!!

Bad idea - buy a bigger boat + no house

I meet loads of people with a boat in the med...and a house in the med. They spend the entire holiday hauling gear from boat to car to house to car to boat etc etc. They have a nearly-big house and a nearly-big boat ...cos whatever their budget they'll almost certainly have a bigger house in the uk. Much better imho to buy big house and ickle dayboat...or massive boat and stuff the house. But then er if bad weather no house...but just stay at home.

Seriously, when one then gets sick of the home port..what then - cos the house is tough to sell....?

Probly no "best" answer to this, so happy hols c.n.

Re: TCM

Inclined to agree TCM but we intend to stay for 6 months at a time in the Villa and don't think the wife
and two dogs would tolerate living onboard. I on the other hand would be happy to.
Also need somewhere to barbie.

Re: TCM

I frequently barbie onboard and have two dogs a lot of the time! You going to be down there round about the 17th May? I'm popping into Estepona, to pick up crew and drop crew off Haydn!! (HLB)

Re: ccscott

Was taking Haydn, but his back is playing up! I need fit people! Poor bugger, I know what back pain can be like, you can never get comfortable! Pity you won't be there, we could have had a beer together, I'll leave Estepona round about the 20-21st may. Another time perhaps?
