Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

The rest of us expect that electricity which goes into cars will end up being tax in the same way as petrol and diesel for use in cars.

It will be either the car which will rat on you and tell the authorities how many electrons you have used (e.g. when it goes in for MOT or for servicing), or the chargers will eventually be made to do it.

Enjoy the cheap electrons while you can!
Do you honestly think that anyone with an ev expects to be able to outrun the taxman ?‍♂️???

Can’t believe that I did it…I cleared out the lazaret and then crawled down and along side until I reached the black holding tank. My plan was to put a screwdriver in the back of the pump (after removing the rubber cap) and turn the impeller anti-clockwise. Would you know it…the whole pump is up tight against the bulkhead. So I removed lots of screws and woodwork and slid the tank out an inch. Managed to get a stubby screwdriver and…it wouldn’t frigin budge…try as I might.
so I crawled out and decided to risk another 25 amp fuse and try to pump it….and it worked !!! I must have just budged it enough.
Of course all is not over…I have to go back under and put everything back to how it was…then the yuckiest of boating jobs…get the tank’s float valve to float ?
It’s a perfect boaty day but it has to be sacrificed…no fun on the water without a working toilet ??
Great stuff, we are all grateful that there isn't a leak in the black tank else we would be in for another 77 page thread... ;)

wrong sea I'm afraid, it's Aegean, not Ionian.
Unsurprisingly, there is a shipwreck (not famous though!) 200mtrs away, love this spot:

Must be a dozen Kalamos (Kalamoi in plural) in Greece, not sure which one you have in mind. V. similar land (well, rock) scape indeed. Where from is this photo you posted?

"our" wreck is in Peristera, small isle opposite Alonnisos island in the Sporades:

nearest point of "civilisation" is in main island Alonnisos, usually spent a week on board every year anchored in this spot. Came back yesterday and already missing it...

cheers

V.
Mine is Kalamos in the Ionian. Port Leone which was destroyed in the 1953 earthquake. The villagers never rebuilt the village except the Church which stands in the middle looking out over the bay. It is one of my favourite bays for its solitude, protection and water. On the feast of the Assumption people walk here or get a boat and the Church is packed. Quite a thing to be at.
