Hello. Is there a mechanic or someone who can, here that would be able to do this job for me on the Orwell. I have tried and failed. I read all previous posts on the subject and tried the suggestions but only succeeded in bending my new set of pullers! As you can see from my pictures I have given it a good bash with a hammer after heating with pullers as tight as I could get them, still no luck.

Thanks

the r/h photo seem to have 2 grub screws still in the 1/2 coupling

it looks to me that the two sections of coupling are on a kind of taper lock , the outer section with the bolt holes needs to be "donked" backwards off the inner section then get yr pullers behind that bit to pull it off the shaft , the outer section will then just come off .

that is if theres enough room .

hope this helps .

I had just assumed that it was just one piece, you might have something there, looking a pics again you might be right. I will investigate further. Thanks

I've had to deal with the same type before, the above is spot on. Pulling the outer part off will tighten it! :D

A taper lock has a visible split and grub screws when looking at the end of the hub. 2 grub screws at 180deg and 1 grub screw hole at 90deg to extract the coupling.
Are the grub you have removed on-top of the keyway? It is often worth putting a drill down the grub screw holes to remove any burr that can "pick up" and jam up when pulling the coupling off.

There are only 2 grub screw holes (2 grub screws in each hole) I am not sure if they are on top of the keyway, I will check Looking at this pic it just seems to be 1 piece, hard to tell.
