MD22 Stop solenoid

My engine stop solenoid seems to have failed, cannot stop engine with it, but ok on manual stop. Any one changed on and if yes how do you do it and also where can I get one from, other from Volvo as they are charging over £200 for one.

I took my broken one off, had two break in a year, now I have a piece of string which I pull, it cuts the engine then I press the stop button to stop the panel power. Works a treat

On the assumption that is a Bosch pump, go to your nearest injection service place and ask them, or, a motor factor. Volvo are taking the piff on that.
MD22 = Perkins Prima or Austin Montego diesel.

Are you sure it's the solenoid? My stop switch has gone open circuit and I've had to wire a bypass.

Do a search as this has been discussed before. Remember there are 2 solenoid one in the pump the other makes a earth connection boh need to work to stop the engine.
