Has the mooted mcz been enacted on the quiet ?
Just been told that no anchoring at all in longoar bay and that the visitor moorings although still in place cannot be used ???

Apparently the moorings have not been inspected for a while and so no one is willing to say they are safe to be used. The restriction on using your own tackle hasn't changed.

There is a voluntary no anchoring agreement . So if you cant use the moorings, then anchor

Or just go to Dale.The Seagrass area is clearly marked and there are 3 visitors moorings to seaward or anchor a bit further out.

But Longoar has a sandy beach.
Checked with the water ranger who confirmed as well as NTM that as Birdseye noted that its a voluntary no-anchoring area.
So an aggressive, self opinionated plod (or was he trying to impress his GF next to him?) who threatened me with a fine for anchoring there.
Does not do anything for good relations between boaters and police.
