"the Balearics. Here, loafing has been elevated to an art form ..... tides have been cancelled, " February MBY p. 72
"You will need to take with you a good set of up-to-date charts, tide tables, and as many pilot books as you can lay your hands on." February MBY p. 76
So is there or ain't there any tides round Mallorca?

Looks like they got part of the Scillies Island Pilot pasted into their Mallorca one (not even MBY hacks are stupid enough to think tide tables are essential for stern-to mooring in the Med, surely?). Expect the production team will be made to go and test a Landau 20 as punishment.

A Landau 20? It's like a Leopard Sport 23, only shorter. A lot shorter. There's a photo of one in said MBY Feb issue page 97.

Production Team? They're the ones with big red pens who take out all your jokes and prove that the penis mightier than the sword.

Do they know how hard we work at elevating " loafing around" an art form, it is so exhausting we have to take frequent rests just to recover.

Tides round Mallorca ? Now let me have a quick look out the window...................well after fours hours staring at it the sea is still at the same level. Maybe I am missing something.

Re: ha! Sub-ed gets a kicking...

I promise not to try and stir it for the next ten days - I am flying out in the morning to try my 2.4m Landau.

Weather forecast for Singapore.

Sunny and occasional rain (26-32 degrees) daily and humidity is 65-95
percent

Re: ha! Sub-ed gets a kicking...

Enjoy your stay (and the new boat). Lived in Singapore back in the 60's and loved the place. Went to an RAF school at Changi and passed the infamous jail twice each day, some would now say that's where I belong!!

Will all have changed, but bet that it's still a great place to be, have a good time.
