Oh, agreed. I too have made good friends on rallies/cruises. I tried (evidently failed) to say that one might not make friends with ALL the peeps on a cruise with 20/30 other boats. I think some people expect it to be utterly matey matey, which it might or might not be.

We've been on a few cruises in company now, and even repeated some of them, and in the main have met some great people, and had a good time.

HE always has someone to talk boats with, the children, who would otherwise get very bored and mutiny, usually find enough children to play with to relieve their boredom. The only problem then is when rafting 6 deep, you bet the couple without children, and who've forgotten what its like, are on the inside, and have to cope with hoards clambering across their boat.
