MBM Cruise

I would love to go.

Not sure I would go to France in my boat anyway but if I did, it would need to be in company otherwise I would be far too scared.

Always stuck in the solent.

It is a shame they cannot schedule the trips in August when the weather is more settled, I have found July (West Country Cruise) has been very dubious over the last few years, in fact July is becoming a bit of a monsoon season!

August cruise

Agreed, August is a great month to go cruising. Why not sign up for our Netherlands cruise

7-21 August
Start/finish Ramsgate
Eligibility Seaworthy boats with a safe un-refuelled range of at least 120 miles
Price £415 per boat
Last few spaces remaining

A two-week exploration of the Zeeland, North Barbant and South Holland provinces of the Netherlands. Departing from Ramsgate, this cruise takes place in the middle of the school holidays and is ideal for boats based anywhere between the Solent and the East coast, but is particularly attractive to boats based on the non-tidal Thames looking to get some salt water under their keels.
After departing Ramsgate we will visit the Belgian harbour of Nieuwpoort. From here it is just a short coastal hop into Dutch waters through a lock onto the non tidal canal at Vlissingen. Then we’ll enjoy a leisurely cruise to our first port of call in Zeeland, the town of Kortgene and Delta Marina where the yacht club always throw a good bash for our crews. After a day of rest we will be back on the move head to the pretty market town of Brouwershaven on the Grevelingen estuary. Our next passage is the shortest on the cruise but takes us from Zeeland into South Holland and the complex of Port Zeeland, a favourite among children due to its proximity to the Center Parcs resort. Our next stop, the quiet market town of Willemstad in the North Brabant province, is just a half day’s sail away and after time to explore and rest we will move onto the busy but pretty harbour at Dordrecht. Then we retrace our steps and head south for the most spectacular stop on the cruise, the harbour at Goes. Here the friendly harbour master will kindly reserve the best moorings for our fleet right at the head of the city’s canal. Another stopover in Belgium will break up the passage home before crossing the Channel and returning to home ports 15 days after leaving.

We did that in 2008 and had a great time see here http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171994

It did rain though!

Whatever you do, don't go on the MBM Netherlands cruise

We did in 2001 and enjoyed ourselves so much, we decided to move all our boating activities to Holland. Bought a Dutch steel boat and ended up living on-board for up to 6 months every year. Only now have we decided that for various reasons, we need to return permanently to the UK. Brilliant time, brilliant country.

So don't say you haven't been warned!!
