MB&Y HT Boat Test.

Fair Point Al,

But I have to say that buying a boat is as much about the emoticon of it as the sense of it. If we thought rationally half of us would not be in the boats we have.

Maybe the sessa did it for the test team and it just felt right? Personally I would have the absolute 47HT..but I am short of a few grand!

Cheers

Paul

I thought it was a deliberately contentious choice but then I and many others have criticised MBY for finding something nice to say about every tested boat and not reaching any conclusion. The writer does say it's his personal choice and I think that there's scope for other points of view.

My choice of the boats tested would probably be the squeeker on shafts.

My guess is you've bought Son Vida's Fairline, and you're waiting for him to announce his new boat...

WTF?

Hey RR.

Just to let you know that your deposit cheque has bounced so my lads are on the way over to "discuss" with you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

SV2 has been cleaned and seviced and is now back to 32.6knots with full tanks - does this qualify as a "Rat Boat" ?

Nick,
You'll have to guess again I'm afraid. SV2 staying put for the moment /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Time for RR tp come clean /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I thinlY are way off mark there. I don't think Rogerrats last phantom wasn't sporty enough to be a Rat Boat, so I'll quick my neck out and say the next Rat boat will be a Sportscruiser, probably a HT version.

An i right?

Al.

Sorry Nick, you're not even close this time Alistair's very warm though. The P50 is a great boat but I'm not old enough for the slippers yet (or the fuel bill). /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I was looking at various boats, nothing with sails though, the guvner thinks they're boring or frightening! and they're too sloooow.

I like the Absolutes but as Trevor knows, the cockpit layout doesn't work for us although they're dead pretty and go like hell, shame really.

The Portofinos' and V48s' are still pricey and there's still the question of fuel prices later.

The sensible choice for us at the moment was a....

It's not a secret really but I will let you know what the new 'Rat Boat' is in a separate thread. Don't hold your breath though, you'd probably guess anyway.

But I will announce that her new name is "Houston" and she's capable of 40 knots but 25 cruising with some thought for economy. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hope to pick her up in a week or two and get some pics. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yep, sure did! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm gonna sneak up on ya, but not near the forts. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Do you like the flybridge? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
