If you are a bit fed up with the usual landfill Napoleonic naval fiction most of which is interchangeable, then, maybe like me, you might appreciate J D Davis' series as in the title.
It's set in the period spanning Elizabeth to the Stuarts, which makes a change, but also the series is well plotted and with a good sense of humour and the odd wry nod to the future.
Not badly priced on kindle as well
