I'm considering new cockpit upholstery. Has anyone used Master covers? I'd be interested in feedback good or bad or other recommendations.
Thanks

Like a lot of small companies without great admin processes, it helps if you can simply drive around there to sort things out.
All the work they have done for me has been top notch, given some prompting.

I asked them to quote for a complete cockpit re-upholstery twice last winter and the could not be bothered to get back to me, the boat was even in Port Solent at the time.

+1 for this. I asked for a quote with the boat out of the water and a few yards from their office and they didn't bother!

I've found all the covers companies to be like this and never quite understood it. That said they've always done a good job when they can be convinced to do the work.
I've always wondered about getting my own machine to do the work myself. I'm not sure of what is required though or what it would cost. Sewing is really not something I've ever understood.

I had a sail cover and some other work done by Mastercover and the workmanship was fine. They, however, had little interest in snagging the few defects - relatively minor to be fair, but irritating nevertheless.

I can't be bothered chasing so will give the covers to Kemp to sort this winter.

Pity
