Mast down - Replacing masthead lights etc

A mate with a Bene Oceanis 31 has his mast down for re-rigging. He wants to upgrade the existing masthead lights. Any particular recommendations?

He wonders if it is worth replacing the Raymarine wind instrument whilst he can. I thought not as I haven't read about them being a problem.

When My mast was down, I fitted some folding mast steeps that allowed me to climb my mast to maintain anything at the top of the mast easer

Worth taking the masthead sheaves out to check for wear...

It's a right pain if a few years down the line you find the mainsail hard to hoist due to an elongated/elliptical central hole in the sheave ..

Edit: Sorry this wasn't about lights but the title did say 'etc.'

They could replace the windex any time in the future if it breaks.. How about replacing the VHF antenna and feed cable whilst down...?

He could put new bearings in the Raymarine mast head unit, it's a cheap easy bit of maintenance..
