Martex Sprayhood

I'm thinking of fitting a sprayhood to my Skipper 17 and after looking around I've found a company called Martex (Cheshire).
They send a S/S frame based on some sinple measurements of your boat. If it fits OK then Martex then send the fabric canopy finished to fit to the frame and all you have to do is trim & finish the hem.
This looks like a good idea and they do the whole thing for about £320.
Has any one experienced fitting a Martex Sprayhood? Are they as good a value as they sound?

Have not bought a sprayhood from Martex Ron but I have bought stuff from him ( he's at all the boat jumbles) for a number of years. It has always worked well and at a very good price too. And he does things pretty quick .

Re: Martex:- Excellent

I bought a Martex sprayhood for my Macwester 30 and have just finished fitting it. The hood itself is excellent quality, everbody at the marina remarks how well made it is. It is easy to fit and the most difficult part is cutting round the front and getting it sewn to finish it off. I would buy another and I cannot say more than that. The owner of the business is very helpfull. They do attend many of the boat jumbles, see www.boatjumbleassociation.co.uk for venues. My last boat was a Skipper 17 (one of the earlier ones made down South as opossed to the later Warrington ones) and I think the Martex sprayhood would fit OK.

Bloke in my yard bought one 5 or 6 years ago, left it on every winter and it still looks good. There's boats I've seen that don't do that. I bought a sail cover from them 5 or 6 years ago- still excellent.

Yes
He came to Fleetwood and as my boat (Hunter Delta) was in the Marina he let me take his display model and a couple of frames to try it all out. I bought the demo one at the end of the jumble - fitted perfectly, easy to fasten very good quality material and frame and very easy to fit.
I've since changed boats and all that was 6 years ago and it still looks as good as new
Buy it!!

I don't know about the sprayhood (I used C&J which was excellent), but his dodgers were of very high quality, and tough too.
