Marker pen..sailcloth

It doesn't look 'sharp' for long.

Better to use some strips of 'Insignia Tape' (300mm long) running up from the foot parallel to the luff in matched pairs on each side of the sail.

Space three of them at 10% of J.

Remember to put some extra woolies (in line with the lowest set) and again back 10%J each time.
You only need two extra sets as by the time you get to the third roll the sail will be so lumpy telltales will be useless.

Would like to mark the roller heaesaul so I can see at a glance how may rolls are in,indelible marker pen?

Ordinary felt/fibre tip "magic marker" type pen in fades in UV in next to no time.

Tried what you are suggesting on my Genoa...... no good!

Marked the boat name on the transom of the little dinghy Michael gave me at the beginning of this summer....... faded to invisible by the end of the summer.

A laundry marker should do the trick though.

You used to be able to get pens which were intended for marking sheep's ear tags. Good and weather-proof. Not available now that they've gone over to embossed tags which are more difficult to interfere with. Such is progress!
