Marine Survey recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a good marine surveyor? We're looking at purchasing a boat that's currently at Datchet. We'd be taking her up to Norfolk so if anyone also know of a good boat transporting company, that would be handy to...

from a surveying standpoint, I've used Derek Levy of Spheredawn on a couple of occasions and found him to be excellent. Details at http://www.spheredawn.com/Marine_survey_contact.php

He travels throughout the UK and Europe so location shouldn't be a problem.

I also recommend Beverly transport, I use them a lot and allways look after the boats and good on price.

Ian Lumley (07833 583300) is excellent. Did three surveys for me. Very thorough; does engines as well as the hull as he was an engineer in a former life. Couldn't recommend him more.

Who ever you choose make sure there fully qualified and have indemnity insurance, its no good paying out on a survey to find things missed afterwards, and there be no comeback on the surveyor afterwards.
