Hi, Im looking to get a cd player for my dads 26' Yacht. Its his birthday soon and his (very) old car radio/tape player has recently died due to it being kept on a boat that is frequently raced.
I've looked into the classy and costly marine stereo systems, but have heard tales of these finding it difficult to survive on a yacht (despite that being their purpose). So at the end of the day, Im looking at something affordable, and reliable.
To the point... Does anyone have any idea how to DIY waterproof a NZ$100ish (~US$70 radio/CD player) so that it would survive on a boat.
A little more info on the boat and its conditions. As i mentioned it is raced regularly, nothing offshore, just friendly (though competitive) racing. It has a few leaks, but these are controlled as best they can be, with the help of ice-cream pots to catch drips, etc. The boat is cared for, just not done up to be a luxurious cruising vessel.
Thank you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
