Marine 16 - Hope it lives up to the hype.

It kills the bacteria and possibly has a cleaning agent for cleaning injectors.
So what happens to all the dead bacteria falling to the bottom of the tank creating the slime which then gets sucked up and blocks your filters?
It still does not deal with the water in the fuel which seems to be the cause of the problems in the first place.
Can't see that your that much better off using it ?

Lets try to get rid of the usual misinfo .... the following is what you can expect with todays

1. Most bio's over counter do aid in passing the residue through system.... but not in heavy situations.
2. Most bio's over counter do aid in passing the 'moisture' through system.... but not actual water.

NOTE THE WORD AID ..... not solve
That means that if you have a mild dose of bug and hit it early - you should find yourself reasonably clear. A periodic sample from bottom of tank will give indication of need for any further action.
This is why regular dosing tends to succeed.

But - Yes its true that pure bio will only kill and you have a residue to deal with. But most over counter have carrier base that can help.

The fact is that LIVING 'bug' is not what clogs filters etc. - in fact living bug passes quite easily through system. It is the 'crap' and death of bug that clogs the system. Second and I keep repeating this but no-one seems to take it onboard >>>>>>>

Not all bug relies on water / moisture ..... there are a line of bug that "SRB" ... Sulphur Reducing Bacteria .... which basically do not need water. The instances of SRB are of course reduced with the reduction of Sulphur content in the fuels - but can still be there.

As I have posted so many times - I use and suggest Enzyme based .... that way I kill and also pass residue / water through system and its burnt off. Only in extreme case will this fail.

To give an example ..... its actually embarrassing but no-ones perfect ....

With one of my Companies (my Additive work was split across 3 companies I owned - which depended on location and local regs) ... I bought a 10ton box Mercedes Truck. It carried pumps (variable to max 10 bar at 20m head 2000ltrs / hr) ... 1 cu.m additive containers (IBC's) up to 6.
Work had reduced in the area it operated and we started using it for general 'in-house' work ...
We closed an office in Tallinn and used the truck to transfer all furniture / computers / test gear etc. back to my main office in Latvia, Truck ran great TO Tallinn.... about a 7hr drive. We loaded her up and set off back to Ventspils. We'd been bowling along nicely for about 2hrs when truck just started to slow and engine died. Rolled to a stop. Engine started - so we started driving again ... we could drive for about 20 mins or so - but each stint was getting shorter each time. Finally we managed to get a garage mechanic to look and as suspected filters were clogged. We had about a 3hr drive left .. so it was decided to grab some filters from the guy - he replaced with new - and continue to try get home. We changed filters one more time before getting home.
Next day I had to 'sweet talk' a pal in Volvo Truck service to pass over some of the Volvo branded additive - we had nothing in our stock as ops there had been stopped quite a while before. Tank was heavily dosed .... filters filled with diesel / adds mix ..... all was left till next morning and engine started .... smoke and all sorts out the exhaust ..... running rough .... but we knew we just had to keep it running ... after about 10mins engine started to smooth out .... so we took it for a drive.
I sold the truck near 1 year later and it had never needed any other action than that.
We all felt a bit foolish .... but in our defence - we didn't have stock at that time to use anyway.
