I need a Marinco 32amp shorepower plug (the female connector that plugs into the stainless steel inlet on the boat).

Aladin's Cave at Itchenor has these for about 90 quid and they're getable from Westmarine and other US e-tailers for about the same in $.

No-one on my usual list of UK based internet boat retailers seems to carry them.

Anyone know a UK retailer that sells Marinco products ?

I managed to pick one up on Ebay last week.

Had the same problem as you and whilst the plug is not in perfect condition it's perfectly serviceable and the socket (fitted to boat) will look a treat when it's installed, much nicer than the plastic one that's there!

If not in a hurry I'd keep a look out on Ebay use Hubbel as a search criteria as well as marinco as they are the same plug.

Good luck

John

Thanks John, Very Helpful Indeed.

I bought the inlet on ebay last week and was dead chuffed with myself until I found out how much the plugs cost at which point I became less chuffed, often the way with ebay "bargains"! Two of these inlets were sold on ebay last week, did you buy the other one ? I suspected that the Hubbel plugs are the same design but wasn't sure, thanks very much for that, they are more widely available and cheaper. As you say, will look great when installed albeit at slightly more than the bargain price originally anticipated.

Nigel, thanks very much also, sadly it's a proprietary "turn and lock" fitting, not the standard caravan fitting.

This caught me out too when I went to get a shorepower lead for my new boat, I bought a 32amp plug for 90 bloody quid then found I only needed the 15amp version for about £35 from Peter's /Opal chandlery in Gosport. I also saw them in the Ipswich Peter's as well. Check the plug size they are very similar.

The 30 amp female plug from West Marine is listed in their catalogue at 28 dollars 99 cents. The stainless steel male receptacle for fitting onto the boat is 84 dollars and 99 cents. Both in US funds, a little more here in Canada. I would say that you guys are really being ripped off.

Hi, try these guys in Hamble (no connection, pardon the pun!), but recently bought plug and socket for my AC fit out, expensive, good quality, but not as dear as you mentioned.

I bought my inlet in the spring and it has been sat under my desk waiting until I could find a suitable plug, so it's been a while now. Pleased that I've finally solved the problem anyway.

Good Luck

John
