Looking for visitors berth in Benodet for four nights from the 5th July. I will be leaving the boat to return for work for two days.

Any recommendations gratefully received.

You have two options: the marina in Benodet or on the opposite bank, Sainte Marine. Benodet is probably better for communications although there is a ferry linking both sides. Tidal currents can be a bit tricky especially in Benodet.

Preferred the peace (relative) of St Marine but the Benodet side has facilities, supermarket and communications.

Arrive close as possible to slack water in either Marina (if it's really fierce when you get there, pick up mid river buoy and wait for it to slack off).

Thank you for the tips. Will try for slack water

It can be nerve-wracking being berthed there on the visitors pontoon. Even though you will be surely be careful, the number of arrivals that try to berth downtide and come to grief is startling.

Best to ask the HM for a catway.

Saint Marine becomes untenable in winds F5+ from S to SW. I've been turned away in these conditions. Loctudy is a better option for leaving the boat IMO with a direct bus service (56?) to Quimper.
