I am new to marina berthing but for the bigger boat it is convenient and not too expensive. We have a power card which is charged up by harbour master's office and then unloads the credit into the power post at the berth. I don't use much shore power as I have a solar input but while doing work I need for tools etc. Once you leave the berth you can reload any spare credit back onto the card. I have discovered credit being wiped from my power post. When I checked with the harbour office I was amazed to learn that indeed the credit can be reloaded to any card not just the card which purchased it!! Is this normal across marinas in EU? There is a camper van park on the quayside with the same power system and the security entry system is never updated so eventually the access codes get to be known as it is common across the marine access and the toilets. It's a good scam if you are that way inclined.

The power points around our harbour (not marina) have a similar system except only the card which applies the credit can remove it. Any credit left on a power unit can be used by anyone however until it’s loaded back on to the correct card.

You need a system where you can turn on and off with your phone. If you unplug lead it automatically turns off . You don’t say location but look around a few other marinas to see which systems they run.
