Marina on the Costa Blanca next year??

I went in to the office in Moraira in February, when visiting the Clayton's.

Its basically a closed shop, whereby the leases for the berths are sold rather than rented. There is no official waiting list, it seems you have to know somebody who is willing to sell, and be ready to pay over 100k euros.

It is often easier to buy a berth if you are willing to buy the boat that is sitting in it already, ie to take it off the owner's hands.

Moriara is a closed shop - no chance unless you buy a boat which is already berthed there and then buy the berth as well.

Moraira is a small(ish) marina, built some time ago for much smaller sailing craft than is the norm today. Yachts have got bigger and the marina can't expand. Can only get 4 yachts on the hard now at any one time.

You can go on their waiting list by joining the club (a bit like a golf club debenture) but on my last enquiry the waiting list is forecast as 12years!!!!!

(What pi$$es me off - met a super couple from Moraira; gave them a day out on the boat; 20 years ago they were offered a lifetime berth in Moraira for £5,000; they didn't see the need for it; or it's potential value; so didn't bother - and then said that if they had then they would let us use it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif )

Greenwich (near Altea) is currently expanding to take another 150 -200 big yachts and plans are being drawn up to expand Denia harbour to take up to another 500 boats.

I can't find any website for San Pedro marina although looking on the road map I can see several marinas near to San Pedro del Pinatar. Can you give any further information

There are several Marinas along that stretch also several inside the Mar Menor.
I know there are berths in Torreveija & Cabo Roig. Possibly also in Tomas Maestow. Phil can tell you more about San Pedro. Im in Campoamor, but no chance there, I can sort you out in Torre no probs. massive marina with large liveaboard contingent & now good security, services ect............Nat.

I'm looking for post summer next year so just data gathering now. I'm down that way on a little end of September car touring holiday so will look in on all the ones you mention.
