My marina has just sent me a letter inviting me to take a 5 year berth lease for 10% discount !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It wouldnt be Largs by any chance was it as I received the same offer yesterday, like you I have declined the offer. I am still contemplating whether to renew my berth there this year or move the boat elsewhere on the Clyde. I have wrote a letter to the MD of Yacht Havens asking why we do not receive any consessions that are on offer at other marinas throughout the country, I received a short reply saying that he will get back to me in the early part of this week, I am still waiting for the full response to my letter, may even post the response on here when I finaly get it.

How much is the 'Risk' that they will go into admidtration in the next 5 years! I bet if you tried to insure against that loss it would be a lot more than 10%! Also we are about to enter a deflationary period so compound deflation could easily wipe out the 10% gain.......

At the moment I would want 50% off!

If I read my letter right I have to give them £15K to have a berth for the next 5 years and hope that their business is not affected by any downturn.
