Hi Guys,

I currently have my boat moored in Malahide marina and I had it book in today to be lifted out of the water and given a sling wash then put on the trailer, so I went to check on it this evening in their boat yard and they did a great job except that one of the tires on the trailer was completely mangled..

Is this something I am going to have to sort myself or are they responsible and therefore must fix it?

are you certain / can you prove that the marina staff mangled it whilst it was in their care ? Or have they parked it up and has someone else run into the tire ?

Well I literally dropped off the trailer last night so they could do the work today, when I came to check it after work they had the boat on the trailer and parked between 2 other boats, highly unlikely someone else did it..

As it looks as if the damage has occurred while the trailer was in their care, it's likely that at least one of the staff saw what happened. Have have you asked them ?

The other question is whether the tyres were in a suitable condition / suitable pressure for use on a loaded trailer. I've had a perished 8ply rating tyre just give up when loading sheep.

Best check the other tyres too.
I imagine most trailer tyres perish rather than wear out.
