Marina in Galway ?

Hi,

I've had a sniff of a contract near Galway and I wondered what it's like to livaboard there ? Is there a marina in the harbour ?

Small marina inside the docks. Gates open around high water. Very good shelter year round at marina and a fantastic town on your doorstep. It rains a lot though.
Very reasonable marina fees by most standards but no club, shower block etc. AFAIK visiting boats can use facilities in nearby hotel but this info is 3 years old.

My daughter went to uni in Galway.....had a fantastic time.
It's a young vibrant city, with plenty of interesting boutique type shops etc.
I believe Lough Corrib has excellent trout fishing.

.....and you're only a stones throw from Connemara, the jewel in the crown.

I think 'george unthank' on this forum has a boat in Galway.

google map show a pretty old photo - there are proper pontoons inside the harbour now.
Reasonably good security in place.
No on-site facitities to speak of expect power, water & skip (perhaps).
No current liveaboards there as far as I know.
(+1 for rains alot!)
