Hi

I am trying to find a map showing all the overnight moorings on the non-tidal Thames that I would be able to print off.
I have tried looking but can only find the visitthames one that is a Google map.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

I am trying to find a map showing all the overnight moorings on the non-tidal Thames that I would be able to print off.

I am not sure that such a thing exists in simple form.

There are many overnight moorings - EA 24 hours, Local Authority, Private Landowners.

I have asked the EA if they have a definitive map or list and will report back.

How would the forum like to assist in compiling a comprehensive list ?

Chris Cove-Smith's "The River Thames Book" is the most complete guide to what's available.

Nothing is 100% accurate - some previously free mooring now have a charge, but the book is pretty good. It has a mine of other information as well.

Knocks Nicholson's guide into a cocked hat. Also very readable.

Not Free, but available here for jus under a tenner including postage
Osney lock may still have copies for sale, but that's probably he wrong end of the river for you...

Do buy a copy; Chris C-S has been on the river since god was a boy and if he can make a few bob from sales he may be encouraged to update it again.

There is a map on the visitthames website:http://www.visitthames.co.uk/poi/2690/moorings.html#maptop

Havent had time to look or decide how good it is - no doubt the panel will make their views known in due course !

Not at all bad!
You have to work hard to extract any info from it, broadening the scale helps a lot.
Difficult to print (OK, can use PrtScrn) but messy.
However, it is free.

Buy the book; You Know it Makes Sense.
