The best days are when you buy your boat and when you sell it :)

Well I made a decision that I wanted to move on and buy a larger boat, I think it will be another Grand Banks but I need to sell Little Ship first. (I don’t want two boats to look after :)) so today I have placed an add and we now sit and wait.

Many on here know how much time and effort I have put into maintaining her over the years and they also know how much pleasure she has provided, but I feel (reluctantly) that it’s time to move on.

Little Ship is what I always said I would have once I moved from sail and to be honest, she has always provided the comfort and fun that was expected of her.

So for all those that say “one of the happiest days is when you sell your boat”….. I already know it isn’t going to be :(

I can only hope if somebody wants her that they get as much pleasure out of her as I have…… and look after her the same way.

Can I put that in the add :)

PS..... Lord know how they will keep the funbox full if she stays around North Wales :)

Know How You Feel

Totally agree with your sentiments Tom, when I sold "One Away" it was a sad day for us, but moved on and bought "Sea Tryst", we have settled into the slow lane quite nicely:D, although it has to be said a GB 42 classic came on the market at the wrong time, (like you, we didn't want to own two boats at the same time) so we missed the opportunity to own a GB:(

Middle Ship, of course.

I'd love her Tom, but 2 big issues, I couldn't afford the price & you would set the whippets on me as she slowly returned to her original state!

Good luck, mate!

Midship

But be careful where you put the name

Yes another GB....... 36 Europa or Classic ........until the time comes to pay :)

Tom

great choice, for us a 36 Europa would suit our needs down to the ground, was looking at this one only a few weeks back. Really got me thinking...

really love those GB's!

really?! I didn't put you down for a GB admirer!! Has that 37ft torpedo got you craving something a bit more roomy?

But TBH I really like them, it has that old gentlemen's club elegance about it...

something understated and very appealing about Grand Banks. i remember looking at one at Earls Court boat show when i was 7 or 8 and announcing that one day i would have one!!

saw one in New Town a few years ago and since then SWMBO has been smitten as well!!

Good luck with the sale! looks a lovely boat!

Hi Tom, that pic alone should virtually sell Little Ship, why not put up a link to your advert as your signature?

Is it really worth selling and starting again with an unknown quantity just for another 4'? What extra will you gain that you don't already have? Interested to know your thoughts.

Anyway, good luck with the whole process. Will the new GB be wood or grp?

Hi Tom, that pic alone should virtually sell Little Ship, Oh lets hope so !why not put up a link to your advert as your signature? Will I be alowed to do that, is it not against the forum rules

Anyway, good luck with the whole process. Will the new GB be wood or grp?I know I said I never would but .... probably plastic but not 100% sure yet I may even be tempted once again to look very closely at Dutch Steel if I cant find the GB I want.

Tom, can't see why putting a link to your ad is against forum rules, but I'm no expert on such things. Go on, live dangerously, give it a go! What have you got to lose?

Done :)

Tom

PS he made me do it !

I look forward to my commission cheque...................

Any reason for only 4 pics Tom? I'd want to see the sleeping quarters, engine room, flybridge, out of water photos etc etc. Basically everything that's on offer. Take a look at HenryFs advert for his princess 42, you can never have too many high quality pics.
